Caitlyn The Powerful Princess

Caitlyn 1

Caitlyn was not too thrilled to have us take pictures of her when she first came in. It took a little tricking her, and a little stepping on her brother to allow us a few pictures of her. A lot of the shots, she wasn’t aware were being taken at all. This only works with a good zoom lens and using the camera on what I like to refer to as “stalker mode” because it makes the shutter super quiet. What a spirited girl, who’s true personality, if you’re so lucky to see, is beautiful and amazing, and I think it reflects in those beautiful eyes.

Caitlyn was born a little early, and came with sepsis, pneumonia and collapsed lungs. She was put on the waitlist for a heart/lung bypass machine, but medical professionals didn’t think she’d survive the life flight to Primary Children’s. Instead she showed her true fighting spirit and went home 5 days later breathing all on her own. She struggled with asthma, obstructive sleep apnea and lung scarring for her fist two years, but kept growing and getting stronger and better everyday. She has shown sensory issues from birth and recently she has struggled more with anxiety, obsessive thoughts and lack of impulse control. On a hard morning, she hated the way her hair felt and started cutting it all off, she cried the whole while and for hours afterward because she wants long hair. This is the 6th time she has cut her hair, but she is truly gorgeous with or without hair and I’m sure she felt so when she got these pictures. She is a fighter and her mother believes she will overcome this obstacle one day, just as she’s done with many other obstacles in her way.

Caitlyn’s Superhero name is: “Caitlyn the Powerful Princess”, because she is resourceful, determined, smart, powerful and a killer dancer. She loves music and to dance! She loves princesses, the movie Frozen and the color pink.

“Caitlyn is strong willed and can outlast me in her endeavors. Since birth, she has fought and conquered so much, her strong-willed attitude has shown since day one.” -Megan, Caitlyn’s mother

Caitlyn-9Caitlyn, you showed us your fight. You showed us your wit. But mostly you showed us your free spirit and determination. We enjoyed getting to see your eyes sparkle and your smile come out. You are beautiful, we want you to know that. You have earned your spot among the True Superheroes. Keep fighting, keep conquering!

I am a true believer in medicating with breastmilk, CBD and THC; They saved my daughter’s life. God bless!
